rumor again apple%e2%80%99s %e2%80%9ciphone%e2%80%9d would be called %e2%80%9cifone%e2%80%9d

IphoneconceptUnconfirmed information by an insider source, told us that Apple’s "iPhone" is in fact called "iFone". This is apparently not official but would be the internal project code name use by the Apple team at this point.

The source also said a MacWorld announcement is possible but not definitive. Decision would be taken only in the first week of January.

Source said Kevin Rose was right about pricing but not about the dual battery system…

Please keep in mind that this is rumor like we had so many till now. We just love rumors!

"iFone"? Sounds good to me! Would make a good fit with the image posted by Myiphone earlier today!

IphonelinksysWe finally had something more than a rumor today. The iPhone is a Linksys VoIp phone. Brian from Gizmodo was right and he must be laughing today.

Have a look at this real iPhone. The only real bad news is you won’t have it bundled with an iPod! At least, in the same casing!

Sunday’s Rumor: The iPhone Would be Named iSongTalk

December 17, 2006 - 10:33 pm Comments Off
sunday%e2%80%99s rumor the iphone would be named isongtalk

Wimax_logo_biSongTalk sounds weird to me, why not iPodTalk? It would make a better fit with the nano and the shuffle. No? At least it would make more sense.

But iPhone’s name is not the only (crazy) rumor we have today. The iSongTalk, if we can now call the iPhone like this for the next few hours, would be based on WiMax technology instead of GSM!

I really don’t get that one because WiMax networks (a form of Wi-fi that can be deployed over an entire city) are not widely available. This is a technology that we’ve been talking for the last five years but is going to take another five years before it is deployed in most major cities. In fact, telecom equipment needed to deploy WiMax networks have been released only this year, after years of delays and problems. Jobs would want to make an iSongTalk phone that nobody can really use? The way he laughed at the Zune and its Wifi sharing capabilities makes me believe this is another rumor that will disappear in a few days…

iPhone or iSongTalks specifications are still a mystery! iSongTalk price at $600 and you can’t make a real phone call? Non-sense! And iSongTalk availability? I don’t even want to speculate!

That’s it for Sunday’s rumor! Stay tuned for Monday’s Rumor!

iPhone Specifications: GSM/EDGE (2.5G)

December 15, 2006 - 9:36 am Comments Off
iphone specifications gsmedge 25g

iphone29-isamu-sanadaDetails
about the Apple’s iPhone are emerging by the hour! The fever is at climax today with a strong rumor of a December 18 announcements. Yesterday we learned (…we think we learned) that the iPhone would be build with a 3.5” screen and metal case.

Today, we have new information on the technology that Apple would use to manufacture the device. According to Thinksecret’s sources, the iPhone will be a GSM/EDGE (2.5G) phone and not a UMTS (3G) device. Apple’s decision to go with 2.5G lies in the technology’s advantages over 3G: physically smaller components and more reliable communication.

The website also reveals that Apple does not want to see carriers subsidize the cost of the iPhone to customers, bucking an industry trend. They want to protect the value of the iPod brand and do not want the iPod to become a commodity for the carriers.

Rumor of the Day: iPhone at $599 and $649

December 14, 2006 - 12:41 pm Comments Off
rumor of the day iphone at 599 and 649

iPhone-picture-decemberMorgan Stanley analyst Rebecca F. Runkle said she has “high conviction” that the iPhone will launch in the first half of 2007.

“We expect Steve Jobs to announce the iPhone at MacWorld or early next year,” she wrote. MacWorld begins on January 9 in San Fransisco.

Runkle said she has a source that says the iPhone will cost $599 for a 4-gig model and $649 for an 8-gig one. These prices are a lot higher than the last rumors we had from Kevin Rose. The analyst also said the iPhone would be thinner than the iPod Video but would be wider than the iPod Nano. The iPhone screen would a 3.5 inch LCD panel. Made with metal, the iPhone case would be available in many colors including at least black,
white and silver. The rumor about Cingular Wireless as a carrier in the U.S. in also back again!

That’s it! This was the rumor of the day!
