iPhone Games will start playing in everyones hand

June 10th, 2008   General   No Comments »

I’m not a big gamer by any stretch of the imagination, but I decided I’d give my ‎iPhone a workout today. To do this, I thought, I would download some iPhone games ‎and get my fingers busy.‎

I surfed the net and came across some browser-based iPhone games firstly. These ‎were interesting but if I’m honest they couldn’t hold my attention for more than an ‎hour or so.‎

So I moved on to downloading some software – this is where, I was told, I was going ‎to get ‘games’ in a sense that I understood: Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario. That kind ‎of thing. I went looking for free downloadable iPhone games but drew a blank after a ‎while. It seemed like I was going to have to pay my own way.‎

The kind of games I was looking for were covered quite nicely by some ‘membership’ ‎sites that I found. The deal is this: pay an upfront membership fee (or a monthly fee in ‎some cases) and you get unlimited access to the site’s catalogue of games. As long as ‎you’re fairly active with your downloading there should be no problem getting your ‎money’s worth in great iPhone games downloads.‎

Restaurants in Phuket all kinds

June 10th, 2008   General   1 Comment »

Restaurants in Phuket offer a range of dishes that will simply blow you away. There sheer number of opportunities for eating in Phuket is quite phenomenal on its own, and it is a guaranteed fact that you will not have to go very far to get world class food.

From the lowly street stall to the food centers in most malls, to the up market restaurants and hotels; there is something for everyone. It must be remembered though that the best food does not necessarily come from the restaurants in Phuket that charge the most for the meals, and you may well get a better local Thai specialty at the local stores that are abundant in the streets of Phuket town than you would in the up market resort area eateries.

These ‘up market’ restaurants in Phuket are still worth exploring, though. Of particular note are the hotels like the Indigo Pearl and the Burasari that offer splendid Sunday brunches.

You will undoubtedly find, as I did, that seafood restaurants in Phuket offer some of the best seafood that you will ever be lucky enough to eat. Oysters are a particular local specialty and the restaurants in Phuket will be able to give you the best oysters money can buy.

Buy Salvia Divinorum

June 10th, 2008   General   1 Comment »

There is a little known and highly inoffensive plant that is causing quite the stir of late. Salvia Divinorum, cousin to the Sage and Mint families, and close sibling to the Salvia plants found in many pretty gardens is being hunted by lawmakers, legislators and politicians in many places. While it remains largely legal this may not last for long.

Despite its relatively obscurity in the world of hallucinogenic drugs, it is true that Salvia has been around for a long time, finding favor with Shamans of Mexico and the Native Americans of North America. Salvia’s hallucinogenic properties were found to help in divination an in the finding of spiritual paths.

Modern day doctors agree to some extent with the spiritual leaders of yore: scientific research has substantiated a number of benefits associated with smoking salvia, such as increased insight, self-confidence, and mood, as well as improved concentration.

Salvia is widely available on the Internet at places such as SalviaDragon.com.

Free music software like Ares Destiny has a cost

June 5th, 2008   General   3 Comments »

When something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I tried the Ares Destiny filesharing software recently. I’d heard mixed reviews so I decided I’d try it for myself. Was I in for a surprise.

Firstly, the software seems nice, but not without flaws. The interface looks a bit dated but it’s functional enough to get by with. Downloading and sharing files is a piece of cake. All in all I would have no problem using Ares Destiny for my day to day filesharing; it’s not my favorite, but it works.

The big surprise comes when you take a look at the ‘bonus software’ that comes packaged with Ares Destiny. The main component is a rather malicious piece of malware called Dealio. Dealio is billed as a price comparison toolbar and, rather tenuously, it gets around the virus or spyware status this way. Unfortunately spyware is exactly what it is, and if you have the software installed you can expect a lot of unwanted ads popping up at all times when you use your computer.

This is all a big shame really, as the makers of Ares Destiny have put together a workable solution to many filesharer’s woes. Shame it has to come with some so much unwanted baggage!

No problem with Ares on Vista

Having never used filesharing software before I was a little bit apprehensive when my friend suggested I give Ares Vista a go. It’s really easy to use and it’s the best out there, he assured me. Not one to spurn a challenge I downloaded it, installed it and gave it a go.

Wow. That is all I have to say. I was in and downloading my favorite Grease mega-mix within minutes. To be honest I’d resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn’t like the software and that I would be uninstalling it within a few hours. Absolutely not the case.

I also expected some trouble with Windows Vista compatibility because a lot of the free software I’ve downloaded since ‘upgrading’ to Windows Vista has struggled with the enhanced security contained therein. Ares Vista was obviously developed with this in mind and it worked straight away with no adjustments need to either Windows or the app itself.

I really like how Ares Vista enables me to get straight in and do exactly what I want with an absolute minimum of fuss. This is great design and there has obviously been a lot of effort put in from the makers.

I can definitely say that I was pleasantly surprised by Ares Vista.

What others are saying:

Muniz Engineering Inc. (MEI) Technologies is one of three companies that has been awarded a subcontract by The Boeing Co. under a NASA avionics contract.

Houston-based MEI Technologies will support the electronic ground equipment development and test activities of the Ares I rocket, which is being designed to transport astronauts into orbit for their journey back to the moon by 2020.

The value of the subcontract was not disclosed.

Fifteen companies competed for the subcontracts and Boeing said it chose the three that “offered the best overall value.”

The other two companies awarded a subcontract were GeoLogics Corp. out of Alexandria, Va. and Huntsville, Ala., based Moseley Technical Services Inc.

All three companies are expected to hire new employees who will be colocated with Boeing and NASA personnel in Huntsville.

No problem with Ares Ultimate

So I decided I was going to break the habit of a lifetime and do something a little bit naughty and a little bit technical. I decided that I was going to download some free music with the help of some file sharing software. I assumed that this was going to be difficult in the sense of both finding it and getting it to work. I was wrong, but then I hadn’t counted on Ares Ultimate coming to my rescue.

Ares Ultimate was my white knight and I really don’t know that I would have got very far at all without its help. The interface is really user friendly and there are subtle prompts everywhere that tell computer illiterates like me just what needs doing.

My son borrowed my computer, took one look at the Ares Ultimate software that I’d downloaded and installed on my own and gasped. “This is great!” he said. At once he was on there, doing all those complicated technical things that I would never have thought of exploring. He certainly made Ares Ultimate work! Apparently it is not just good for the novices among us!

Ares Ultimate seems like a high quality piece of software that works for so many people of so many different skill levels. Recommended!

Liberty League International is Not a Scam

June 1st, 2008   General   No Comments »

Anyone searching the Internet for information on Liberty League International would be forgiven for thinking that the whole company was an elaborately put together scam. This is unfortunate and it is certainly not correct.

As one of the first members of Liberty League International it pains me to think of the bad press that this organization gets. While a lot of the comments about the company’s core product being hastily put together and of no intrinsic value were largely accurate, they missed the point of what home based businesses are all about. The value in the business was not in the product that was sold but in the environment and community that was centered on personal development and has helped thousands of business people make the transition to becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Liberty League International added much to the industry in terms of bringing it into the mainstream, and for this many of the today’s newer company’s owe Liberty League International at least that much consideration.

LifePath Unlimited is one of those lucky companies that was able to learn from others’ mistakes. And a very good job they are doing too: a really good looking product line contains items that would all sell happily in their own right, and a growing base of experienced entrepreneurs willing to help new home based business owners. This is a company that is picking up and running where Liberty League International left off.

Ares Ultra the solid choice

May 27th, 2008   General   No Comments »

If you are new to filesharing then you might need a gentle introduction into its art and science. What helps in these situations is to have the right tools for the job. This is where Ares Ultra steps in.

A simple interface and yet one which allows you full control over most of the functions you’re likely to want to carry out when filesharing. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the Ares implementations but it does what it is supposed to.

And it is this powerful simplicity that, despite being Ares Ultra’s strongest asset, is its biggest downfall. Some advanced users might find the simple interface a little too simple; some of the more complex functions have to be dug out of the menu system. This is a minor quibble that will only affect some power users, and is not a consideration that will bother most potential users.

Ares Ultra is a solid choice.

Home Business Office

May 18th, 2008   General   1 Comment »

Starting a home business can be a daunting process. Marketing, legal matters, new equipment and the small matter of actually doing some work.

There are some pieces of equipment that are going to be absolutely essential to you home business. If nothing else then you absolutely need a telephone – this is your contact with the outside world, your connection with your customers, your suppliers and your business partners. Without it you will be lost.

If you expect to spend a lot of time on the phone – perhaps in teleconferences or the like – then you should consider a wireless headset. It is value for money rather than price that is the key to the success of your home business. For great value I recommend Plantronics.

Your computer too is key to your success and it is imperative that you buy a high quality machine. Steering away from Microsoft (and the problems and viruses that come with it) may be a good move: go for a Mac instead. Your home business deserves the best.
