There are a vast variety of iPhone apps that I find really engaging (this is great, but they tend to take up too much of my time!). The iPling app is just one of these iPhone apps.

Social networking is a huge and (still) booming market and it is this that iPling attempts to cash in on. There are iPhone apps out there that look to provide a social networking facility to iPhone users, but none quite so unique.

While it is one of those iPhone apps dedicated to the 3G iPhone iPling will never have the user base of the MySpaces or Facebooks of this world. This might not matter though as the iPhone user base is a) big enough; and b) really well marketed to start with anyway. If you own an iPhone then it’s a safe bet that you’ve got a lot in common with someone else who owns an iPhone.

As iPhone apps go iPling is quite sedate (certainly it cannot match the adrenaline pumping excitement of some of the latest games) but it is really interesting (if you like this kind of thing, which I do) find people who like similar things to yourself.
