Every media outlet will take every chance it can get to attack Salvia, those that buy Salvia and definitely those that sell it. Mostly these vitriolic diatribes are uninformed and naïve. Often it is a sign of the newspaper or show simply leaping on the bandwagon: Salvia and those that buy Salvia in order to get high are an easy target these people, and a target that not many will be seen to sympathies with.

A recent article in the Washington Post is no different. Using emotive language and hinting heavily that Salvia is something that should be carefully considered for banning. Whether the writers believe what they are writing about or whether they are simply towing the publication’s official line isn’t clear. Let’s hope, for their sake, it’s the latter.

Anyone wanting to buy Salvia can do so legally. You can buy Salvia online or in shops. There is a good reason that it remains legal: it simply isn’t dangerous or harmful.

It would be nice if some newspapers and reporters would start to take a proper look at Salvia rather than assuming because it is a drug that makes people high that it is, by default, A Bad Thing.
